Overview
During a Velocity planning meeting, I noticed we were going to run a networking bingo activity using printed paper cards — a clunky experience for a 200+ person event where assigned seating made passing cards around nearly impossible. I saw an opportunity to solve a real problem on the spot. That same meeting, I started drafting a web-based version. Within a week, I had iterated on the design with the team and shipped a fully functional mobile-first bingo app — no installs, no friction, just a link. Attendees could play directly from their phones, fitting the fast-paced nature of the event. The result: 250+ page visits during the event with zero downtime, and a noticeably smoother networking experience. It was a small idea that turned into a tangible improvement — exactly the kind of initiative I enjoy taking.
